At the Just Too Filmy Best of OTT Roundtable 2025, Kajol<\/a> reflected on how success reveals itself in the most unexpected ways \u2014 often far removed from box-office numbers or headlines.<\/p>\n

\"Kajol Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan’s DDLJ recently marked 30 years. <\/p>\n

Recalling the release of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge<\/a>, Kajol shared a moment that made the scale of the film\u2019s impact unmistakably clear. \u201cI was driving back from Film City and stopped at a signal. A truck pulled up next to me and the driver just looked at me,\u201d she said with a laugh. \u201cThat\u2019s when it hits you \u2014 okay, something has really connected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thirty years later, with a statue of DDLJ unveiled at London\u2019s Leicester Square, Kajol admitted the recognition still feels surreal. \u201cWe had shot there for the film, and now to see a statue there \u2014 it\u2019s unbelievable. It also shows how far our stories travel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about her OTT journey with The Trial, Kajol noted that it isn\u2019t just her choices that have evolved \u2014 audiences have too. \u201cWomen are seeing themselves differently now,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen they recognise parts of themselves on screen, it becomes far more engaging. There are more women watching, more women engaging, and that\u2019s changing storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n
