Everyone deserves a safe space to process difficult experiences, especially when they\u2019re still learning how to heal.<\/p>\n
But one teen quickly realized that not everyone in her circle understood the meaning of privacy or compassion.<\/p>\n
Soon, the artwork she created to cope, meant for her eyes only, became the center of a cruel group chat blast<\/a>.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll want to keep reading for this one.<\/p>\n I\u2019m 17, and about two months ago I started therapy for something that happened to me.<\/p>\n Art ended up being the only thing that really helped.<\/p>\n I do digital art, but I\u2019ve never posted it or really saved it anywhere.<\/p>\n But soon, she realized the artwork wasn\u2019t as private as she initially thought.<\/p>\n A week ago, my friend \u201cLacey\u201d messaged me saying she saw the art on my phone and that it was \u201charmful\u201d and \u201cdisgusting.\u201d<\/p>\n I kinda lost it on her and sent like 15 long messages because I couldn\u2019t believe she said that or maybe even went through my phone.<\/p>\n She left me on read, so I thought that was it.<\/p>\n The reality soon became much worse.<\/p>\n Then a few days later my other friend \u201cKyle\u201d DM\u2019d me asking what was going on and sent a screenshot of some group chat.<\/p>\n Lacey had sent almost half of my art in there, told them I made it, and there were like 12 people in the chat \u2014 some I barely know.<\/p>\n I was terrified because yeah, without context the art looks bad, which is why I kept it private.<\/p>\n I messaged Lacey again, and she said people \u201cdeserved to know how gross I am.\u201d<\/p>\n Soon, Lacey\u2019s cruel words began to get in her head.<\/p>\n I know the drawings look weird because of what I went through and how complicated everything feels, but it was the only thing that made me feel a little better, and now I do feel kinda gross.<\/p>\n AITA??<\/p>\n It\u2019s hard not to get upset when someone you considered a friend betrays your trust like this.<\/p>\n What did Reddit think?<\/p>\n One thing is for sure: This teen needs to stay as far away from Lacey as possible.<\/p>\n Lacey definitely doesn\u2019t have this teen\u2019s best interests at heart.<\/p>\n Now\u2019s the time to put some extra security measures on all her devices.<\/p>\n People deserve to process things privately, and in the way that feels the most healing to them.<\/p>\n And if anyone should feel ashamed here, it\u2019s the friend who betrayed her privacy in exchange for a little attention.<\/p>\n Maybe this whole situation was just a painful lesson in who she could actually trust.<\/p>\n If you liked this post, you might want to read this story about a teacher who taught the school\u2019s administration a lesson after they made a sick kid take a final exam<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\t\tCategories: STORIES<\/a>\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
