Shiver Me Timbers<\/a>, one of several recent indie horror movies exploiting Popeye the Sailor\u2019s public domain status, is getting a sequel.<\/p>\n

Tarzan and Betty Boop will join Popeye and Olive Oyl in Shiver Me Timbers 2: Chainsaws Are for Children. Watch the teaser below.<\/p>\n

Picking up mere weeks after the events of the first film, the sequel sees Popeye land in New York for a brutal killing spree in Little Italy, tearing through the local mafia\u2019s ranks.<\/p>\n

Olive Oyl, now armed with a bionic, super-powered hand, travels to the city to avenge her brother\u2019s death. Her journey leads her straight to the mafia boss\u2019s nightclub, where she unexpectedly bonds with sultry singer Betty Boop.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the mafia boss learns that his long-lost son, now a grown man, has been found after disappearing as a child during a vacation in the jungle. However, while attempting to rehabilitate him, he escapes, tackling Popeye and taking a puff from his legendary pipe.<\/p>\n

As a result, he transforms into a savage beast man, forging a twisted alliance with Popeye. Olive and Betty, with a little help from the mafia, must face the monstrous duo before it\u2019s too late.<\/p>\n

Writer-director Paul Stephen Mann is back at the helm, with Tony Greer and Amy Mackie reprising their respective roles as Popeye and Olive Oyl.<\/p>\n

Committed to using all practical effects this time around, the UK horror comedy is said to be a love letter to grindhouse cinema, pulpy comic-book chaos, outrageous characters, and zero restraint.<\/p>\n

Alpake Entertainment is launching an Indiegogo campaign<\/a> on December 20 to help fund Shiver Me Timbers 2. Rewards include on-screen victim roles, producer credits, screen used props, signed memorabilia, and more.<\/p>\n
