{"id":191464,"date":"2025-12-19T08:39:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T08:39:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/191464\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T08:39:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T08:39:17","slug":"matt-campbell-confirmed-in-bathurst-12-hour-line-up-with-porsche","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/191464\/","title":{"rendered":"Matt Campbell confirmed in Bathurst 12 Hour line-up with Porsche"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/M25_4936_a3_rgb.jpg\" alt=\"Matt Campbell confirmed in Bathurst Porsche line-up\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPorsche factory driver Matt Campbell.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell will once again join Alessio Picariello in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, while Bastian Buus replaces Ayhancan Guven in the Pro squad.<\/p>\n<p>Based out of Shanghai, the Chinese team is searching for its first Bathurst 12 Hour win.<\/p>\n<p>On its 2020 debut, the team came up short of the podium with fourth in the hands of Campbell, Mathieu Jaminet, and Patric Pilet. In 2025, Campbell, Picariello, and Guven finished sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell, who has two Bathurst 12 Hour wins to his name, hopes he can break the team\u2019s duck on its third visit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will be my third time competing at Bathurst 12 Hour with Absolute Racing,\u201d said Campbell.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and I think we\u2019ve got a strong line-up with Bastian and Alessio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an Australian it\u2019s one of the highlights of the season, so we\u2019re aiming to have a strong weekend and battle for a podium finish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Absolute Racing team principal Fabien Fior said the team has a line-up capable of winning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to be returning to the Bathurst 12 Hour, and to do so in Porsche colours makes it even more special,\u201d said Fior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have fond memories of this event, having secured pole position and led the race in 2020, and leading it again in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis time, we will be aiming to convert that pace into the podium finish that has so far eluded us, while enjoying the incredible support of the local fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can count on three excellent drivers \u2013 Matt and Alessio form a strong and familiar core within the Absolute Racing line-up, while Bastian will be a valuable addition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe we have everything in place to make it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour takes place on February 13-15.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/motorsport-news-bathurst-12-hour-porsche-earl-bamber-motorsport-entry-drivers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Porsche recalls winning team for Bathurst 12 Hour attack<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/285249\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/285249.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Porsche factory driver Matt Campbell.
