\n\tBritish documentary maker Louis Theroux<\/a> will make his first trip to the\u00a0Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival<\/a>,\u00a0to screen his film The Settlers and participate in a Q&A following the screening at the 2026 edition of\u00a0CPH:DOX<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFourteen years after his first visit, Louis Theroux<\/a> meets some of the growing community of religious-nationalist Israelis who have settled in the occupied West Bank,\u201d a synopsis of the doc reads.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLouis Theroux is a genre\u2011defining documentary filmmaker and presenter, best known for his deeply immersive and empathetic programs that explore the intricate and often contentious facets of human existence,\u201d the Copenhagen<\/a> fest highlighted. \u201cThese include his BAFTA\u2011winning series Louis Theroux\u2019s Weird Weekends and When Louis Met\u2026, alongside a string of acclaimed and award\u2011winning documentaries. Louis Theroux immerses himself in challenging environments, allowing his audience a glimpse into the often-unseen corners of our world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd they added: \u201cHis gentle and charming approach to interviewing and documentary filmmaking is uniquely his own, as is his ability to offer rounded portraits of his subjects while always resisting easy judgements.\u201d<\/p>\n

CPH:DOX 2026 will dedicate an evening to the documentarist on March 18, screening his latest film about Israeli settlers on the West Bank, followed by a conversation with Politiken journalist Lotte Folke Kaarsholm about the making of the film and his approach to documentary filmmaking.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a0Copenhagen fest previously said<\/a>\u00a0it would pay tribute to Belgian cycling legend \u201cThe Cannibal\u201d Eddy Merckx with the Danish premiere of Christophe Hermans and Boris Tilquin\u2019s doc\u00a0Merckx \u2013 Race of a Champion, as well as screen\u00a0A World Gone Mad<\/a> \u2013 The War Diaries of Astrid Lindgren.<\/p>\n

\n\tCPH:DOX 2026 runs March 11-22.\u00a0With DOX:DANMARK, CPH:DOX also offers mini-festivals in municipalities across Denmark, where the audience can enjoy \u201cspecial events featuring new Danish and international<\/a> documentary films,\u201d organizers note.
