American Public Media Group, the owner of Minnesota Public Radio and Southern California Public Radio, has entered into a Consent Decree and will pay an $86,400 penalty for airing EAS tones during a segment produced by the BBC World Service but distributed by APMG.<\/p>\n
\u201cChasing the World\u2019s Biggest Tornado\u201d airing on May 24, 2023 during the BBC show \u201cWitness History\u201d and failed to remove two EAS Tones and part a NOAA Tornado Warning audio from the segment. The program aired on APMG\u2019s 46 stations across the Upper Midwest and California along with 500 stations nationally.<\/p>\n
The FCC has updated the FM Table of Allotments to reinstate vacated facilities and modify license classes on others.<\/p>\n

License Cancellations<\/p>\n
Kirkman Broadcasting surrendered the licenses of \u201cClassic Country 98.5<\/a>\u201d 1340 WQSC and Classic Hits \u201c102.1 The City<\/a>\u201d 1450 WQNT Charleston SC. Both of the station\u2019s brands continue as its translators are now being fed by HD subchannels of 106.3 WJNI Ladson.<\/p>\n Ahead of it reaching one year of silence, Connoisseur Media turned in the license for 1480 KLMS Lincoln NE. KLMS went silent in December 2024 after losing its tower site.
