North West, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has joined Instagram<\/a> after months of receiving backlash over her edgy style choices.<\/p>\n

The 12-year-old celebrity offspring took to Instagram on Friday, December 19, to share her \u201cfirst post\u201d featuring a blurred photo that showed North in a Balenciaga T-shirt, a black miniskirt and boots wrapped in metal chains. The pre-teen\u2019s hair was pulled back into a slicked back bun and she threw up double peace signs.<\/p>\n

Two days later, North shared another photo \u2014 this time covering her face with her hands.<\/p>\n

Her caption, \u201c\ud83d\udd1c,\u201d seemingly teased an upcoming project.<\/p>\n

The tween amassed nearly half a million followers in just two days, with many fans leaving her baby photos in the comments. Other followers shared GIFs of Kanye looking disappointed, or a clip of grandma Kris Jenner\u2019s iconic catchphrase, \u201cYou\u2019re doing amazing, Sweetie,\u201d from Keeping Up With the Kardashians.<\/p>\n

North \u2014 whose bio claims the account is \u201cmanaged by parents\u201d \u2014 has come under fire in recent months for appearing to dress older than her age. Her recently bleached eyebrows, blue hair, septum piercing, bejeweled grill, risky finger piercing and fake face tattoos are just a few of the controversial moves.<\/p>\n

\u201cKanye\u2019s worried his little girl is acting up,\u201d a source exclusively told Star<\/a> in November. \u201c[His wife] Bianca [Censori] says they need to be proactive and see the kids, especially North, who clearly needs her dad and stepmom more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
