Luxury cat food, meats and cheeses were among the nearly $1000 worth of items two women allegedly shoplifted from a supermarket in Auckland’s Henderson on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Sergeant Rachel England said the supermarket workers alerted police to the offending.<\/p>\n
“Two women allegedly stole a large number of groceries from the store in their trolley,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Our team arrested the pair a short distance from the store.”<\/p>\n
While the two women did have a receipt for $160 in goods, police uncovered a pile of groceries in the vehicle’s boot.<\/p>\n
“They had allegedly tried to steal just shy of $1000 in groceries, including luxury cat food, meats and cheeses,” England said.<\/p>\n
