{"id":197883,"date":"2025-12-23T10:33:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T10:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/197883\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T10:33:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T10:33:07","slug":"roads-are-priority-of-every-country-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/197883\/","title":{"rendered":"Roads\u00a0are priority of every country &#8211;\u00a0Mahama\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanabusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Environment-Coastal-Agavedzi-1.jpeg\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-262374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Environment-Coastal-Agavedzi-1-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"  \/><\/a>President John Mahama<\/p>\n<p>President John\u00a0Dramani\u00a0Mahama\u00a0has emphasized the need for quality roads\u00a0to boost economic development.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As part of his campaign promise to improve the country\u2019s infrastructure, including those of the Bono Region, the President has launched a five-year project, the \u201cBig Push,\u201d to construct quality roads in the area.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The project includes major road projects such as the Sunyani Outer Ring Road, Sunyani-Atronie-Acherensua Road, Sunyani-Wenchi-Berekum Road, and Jinijini-Sampa Road.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At a sod-cutting ceremony at Watchman near Sunyani in the Bono Region, President Mahama announced that $2 million would be released annually, totaling $10 million over five years to support the project.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He also revealed that $5 million in road contracts\u00a0had already\u00a0been awarded, with every region in the country set to benefit.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Local contractors, including Rango, Kofi Job and Alexiboam have been awarded contracts for the projects as the President emphasised importance of engaging local contractors and labour to create jobs to boost community development.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>President\u00a0Mahama\u00a0said the initiative\u00a0aimed\u00a0to boost economic development, improve\u00a0transportation\u00a0and enhance regional connectivity.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He assured Ghanaians that the projects would not be abandoned and also\u00a0\u00a0 promised to pay old contractors owed by the previous government.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mr .
