Coronation Street<\/a>\u2019s Lisa Swain<\/a> (Vicky Myers<\/a>) struggled through Christmas<\/a> Day with wife Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) by her side, though it was clear her thoughts were with Carla Connor<\/a> (Alison King<\/a>), despite their recent split.<\/p>\n What she didn\u2019t anticipate as part of the festive celebrations was Evelyn Plummer<\/a> (Maureen Lipman<\/a>) laying down some hard truths \u2013 and making an unexpected confession\u2026<\/p>\n Things were going reasonably well for Carla and Lisa before Becky\u2019s resurrection<\/a> earlier this year, but the return of Lisa\u2019s supposedly-dead wife tore them apart.<\/p>\n Becky has worked tirelessly to win back Lisa and daughter Betsy Swain<\/a> (Sydney Martin), and it seems she has finally succeeded \u2013 though not by fighting fairly.<\/p>\n After deciding she could no longer put up with Becky\u2019s meddling, Carla called it quits on her relationship with Lisa, before ultimately opting to give things another go.<\/p>\n However, Lisa decided that it was for the best that they break up after all, and Carla jetted off to Lanzarote for a solo holiday \u2013 or so Lisa believes.<\/p>\n \t\t Rather than \u2018living her best life\u2019 on the beach as Lisa has been led to think, Carla is actually much closer to home, tied up in the closet of a flat.<\/p>\n It transpired that Carla had been kidnapped by Becky<\/a>, who wasn\u2019t going to accept defeat when it came to winning back her family.<\/p>\n Unfortunately for Becky, the lie about Carla sunning it up in Lanzarote faced scrutiny in tonight\u2019s episode, when Lisa got a text from Roy Cropper (David Neilson) revealing that Carla had never checked into her hotel.<\/p>\n Becky did her best to reassure Lisa that all was well, before rushing off to cover her tracks.<\/p>\n However, things backfired when Carla refused to do as Becky asked and record a voice note for Lisa, arguing that Becky wouldn\u2019t get away with her abduction<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t With Becky distracted, Carla hid her phone, but was caught out when it started ringing with a call from Betsy.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDon’t miss a Soaps scoop! Carla was clearly trying to send a secret message, but Betsy didn\u2019t catch on.<\/p>\n When Becky returned to No.6, she was surprised to find Roy and Evelyn there, with Betsy sharing the news that she\u2019d heard from Carla.<\/p>\n \t\t This had buoyed Lisa\u2019s mood immensely, but Evelyn wasn\u2019t convinced that it was a good sign.<\/p>\n She pointed out to a puzzled Lisa that Carla answering Betsy\u2019s call only confirmed the detective\u2019s fears that she was ignoring her, before urging Lisa to face the facts.<\/p>\n When Lisa questioned what these facts were, her response came as a shock to everyone.<\/p>\n \u2018Maybe she\u2019s just not cut out to be a lesbian.\u2019<\/p>\n If the Swains hadn\u2019t been expecting that, then Evelyn\u2019s next admission left them completely gobsmacked.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018A lot of people aren\u2019t. I know I wasn\u2019t!\u2019<\/p>\n Seriously, Lisa\u2019s face was an absolute picture.<\/p>\n While Evelyn\u2019s bombshell was highly entertaining to us, it did little to comfort Lisa, who was clearly still hung up on Carla\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n Not knowing the truth, is she at risk of never seeing her lover again?
