It\u2019s an open secret among Android enthusiasts that OnePlus has a history of making phones that features specs similar to elite flagships like the Samsung\u2019s Galaxy S25 Ultra<\/a> and Google\u2019s Pixel 10 Pro XL<\/a>, and sells them lower prices than the competition. In the past, that\u2019s been the extent of the argument for OnePlus, but the brand’s newest phone, the OnePlus 15<\/a>, feels like a step up because of one specific feature that stopped me in my tracks. <\/p>\n

This phone<\/a> has a huge battery. And that bigger battery translates to incredible battery life, beyond what you\u2019re going to get from any other phone right now. Not only will it last through a full day on the go, you won\u2019t need to charge it every night. And when it is time to charge, it has best-in-class fast charging, so you won\u2019t need to wait long. <\/p>\n

If you routinely find yourself worrying about whether or not your phone\u2019s going to die, the OnePlus 15 may literally be a comfort to you. With genuine two-day battery life and specs that won\u2019t leave you missing your old phone, this should be on everyone\u2019s radar when for their next upgrade.<\/p>\n

Habit-Altering Battery Performance<\/p>\n

At 7,300 mAh, the OnePlus 15 has the largest battery in a modern phone, and it\u2019s not even close. It\u2019s 20 percent larger than the already massive 6,000 mAh battery in its predecessor, the OnePlus 13<\/a>, and close to 50 percent larger than the batteries in this year\u2019s most popular Android flagships, Google Pixel 10 Pro XL<\/a> (5,200 mAh) and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra<\/a> (5,000 mAh). Powering an efficient, cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 chip and an FHD+ display, that bigger battery makes the OnePlus 15 the longest-lasting smartphone I have tested in my 15 years of experience.<\/p>\n

I had zero trouble getting through two full days of my usual, fairly intensive phone usage without plugging it in. I usually wind up spending several hours on my phone every day \u2014 it\u2019s part of the job, y\u2019know? \u2014 I\u2019m generally bouncing between browsing the web, scrolling through my social media accounts on Instagram, Threads, and Reddit, keeping tabs on email, all while sending messages to friends and colleagues and streaming music. (For testing purposes, I also made sure to squeeze in about an hour a day of gaming and watching YouTube videos.)<\/p>\n

Most Android phones would at least need a top-off from a charger to get through a day like that. The big-screen Pixel Pro and the Galaxy S25 Ultra can last two days, but only if you don\u2019t use them as much. When I toned down my usage, I found the OnePlus 15 could actually last three full days without charging. That\u2019s completely unheard of among modern phones.<\/p>\n

If all this talk about the size of the battery was worrying you about the phone\u2019s heft, don\u2019t fret. The OnePlus 15 actually weighs less than the Google Pixel 10 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra \u2014 211 grams, versus 232 grams for the 10 Pro and 218 grams for the S25 Ultra. The secret, it seems, is that the OnePlus battery uses advanced silicon nanostack technology, which boosts its capacity while taking up less space than a standard battery.<\/p>\n

Peerless Charging Speeds<\/p>\n

Equally important to the OnePlus 15\u2019s battery-life victory lap, this phone charges quickly. With a maximum 50-Watt (W) charging input, it smokes the competition in both wired and wireless charging speed. Using the bundled charging adapter \u2014 something most phone brands make you buy separately these days \u2014 you can fully charge it from 0 to 100 percent in about 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

And the amount of battery life you get from a quick top-off is just as impressive. I was able to get 15 percent, from 25 to 40, in the five minutes it took me to prepare and drink my afternoon espresso. You can actually watch the battery meter fill up in real time as it charges. I found it thrilling, to be honest.<\/p>\n

OnePlus also sells a large 50W wireless fast charger<\/a>, which can charge the phone faster than other flagships do with wired charging. 50W charging is rare among smartphones right now: The Pixel 10 Pro and the Galaxy S25 Ultra support a maximum charging input of 30W and 45W, respectively. Those same phones charge wirelessly at just 25W \u2014 half of what you get with the OnePlus 15.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s More Than a Big Battery, Though <\/p>\n

As with previous OnePlus phones, the components under the hood here are in line with other flagship Android phones \u2014 there\u2019s a reason I\u2019ve been bringing up the S25 Ultra and Pixel 10 Pro so much: They are the most effective points of comparison.<\/p>\n

As expected, the OnePlus 15 packs Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, with 12 or 16 GB of RAM for instant interactions and flawless multitasking, and up to 512 GB of ultra-fast storage. The phone’s AMOLED touchscreen is bright, sharp, and snappy, delivering smooth animation on menus and in games at up to 165 frames per second. The camera, too, is in the same ballpark as other top Android phones, featuring a lens stack with a trio of high-resolution sensors and a high-resolution selfie snapper on the front. <\/p>\n

The OnePlus 15 rewrites the rules of smartphone battery performance and charging. It isn\u2019t as flashy an upgrade as Apple’s and Samsung\u2019s ultra-thin iPhone Air <\/a>and Galaxy S25 Edge<\/a>. Those phones look amazing, but need to be charged frequently: You\u2019re trading style for substance. The OnePlus 15 is a bit more modest in its aspirations, but also more practical. Personally, I\u2019ll take the upgrade that makes my life easier and gives me the freedom to look away from the battery meter.
