{"id":204944,"date":"2025-12-28T10:57:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-28T10:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/204944\/"},"modified":"2025-12-28T10:57:15","modified_gmt":"2025-12-28T10:57:15","slug":"mosterts-light-hearted-wish-for-future-seasons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/204944\/","title":{"rendered":"Mostert\u2019s light-hearted wish for future seasons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-330-Chaz-Mostert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CHAZ Mostert<\/a> might have an ulterior motive for hoping to see his former teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-5-David-Reynolds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Reynolds<\/a> stay on the full-time Supercars grid for many years to come.<\/p>\n<p>A sweeping changing of the guard will make for the youngest field in championship history next season.<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds will be the elder statesman at age 40, with Mostert remarkably next at 33 (he turns 34 in April).<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 champion admits that is a somewhat scary prospect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s crazy to think I\u2019m going to be the second-oldest on the grid,\u201d Mostert told V8 Sleuth last month.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-18-scale-2025-adelaide-25-ford-mustang-chaz-mostert-model-pre-order?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/cdn\/shop\/files\/ACD18F25CWWebsite_Pitboard_1024x1024.jpg?v=1764577857\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just really hoping Reynolds keeps going for quite a few more years so I don\u2019t have to be considered the oldest \u2013 or someone makes a crazy comeback!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would be really good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds\u2019 future is uncertain beyond 2026, having survived pressure to get a one-year extension at Team 18.
