Recycling centres and tree collection services are available across the region<\/p>\n

As the festive period comes towards a close you may be thinking about what to do with your Christmas tree. <\/p>\n

There are plenty of options across the West – whether you want to recycle or even give it to charity.<\/p>\n

For regular waste collections, residents have been urged to check their postcode-based collection calendar<\/a> and to use recycling and food waste collections as much as possible during the festive period.<\/p>\n

Here is breakdown of what is available across the West Country.<\/p>\n

In Bristol, the city’s waste company has said trees must be no taller than 2m if they are to be collected and all decorations must be removed.<\/p>\n

People are asked to check their waste collection calendar for the tree symbol to discover when their collection will take place. <\/p>\n

In Gloucestershire, those who subscribe to the garden waste service can cut up their real Christmas tree and put it in their green garden waste bin – with decorations removed and the bin lid closed.<\/p>\n

In Somerset and Wiltshire, garden waste subscribers can leave trees, under 2m in length, next to their garden waste recycling bin on the first collection date in January. <\/p>\n
