The Beatles \u2013 A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/a> is set to ensure that the Fab Four are never forgotten, with each member of the iconic band getting their own film.<\/p>\n

Starring Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghan as Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, respectively, the highly-anticipated films are set to hit cinemas in April 2028. <\/p>\n

Along with the four leads, the films also boasts an impressive cast of actors<\/a> playing the bandmembers’ significant others with Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey. <\/p>\n

But while The Beatles might still be the biggest band in the world, McKenna-Bruce, who got her big break as Tee Taylor in Tracy Beaker Returns, has admitted that she didn’t know too much about the band before being cast as Ringo’s first wife.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Tatler<\/a>, the actor said: “We sang ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and ‘Yellow Submarine’ at school, but it wasn\u2019t my jam. <\/p>\n

“On [Agatha Christie’s] Seven Dials, Martin [Freeman] was asking me to name all the Beatles \u2013 I didn\u2019t know.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “He\u2019d ask me, ‘What band was Mick Jagger in?’ I was, like, ‘I have no idea, Martin’ and he was, like ‘Aargh!’ <\/p>\n

“Yet now, I\u2019m, like, ‘Oh my God, The Beatles are underrated! This is good!’ It\u2019s music I\u2019d sit and listen to on the train.” <\/p>\n

McKenna-Bruce went on to speak more about playing Maureen, who met Ringo while she was a trainee hairdresser in Liverpool, and went on marry the drummer in 1965, aged just 18. <\/p>\n

She shared: “I haven\u2019t met Ringo, but apparently, to this day, when he talks about Maureen, he gets this brightness behind his eyes.<\/p>\n

“Ringo went through so much \u2013 all of the Beatles did \u2013 and Maureen really grounded him, so it\u2019s important to me to keep her as human and warm as possible.” <\/p>\n

McKenna-Bruce will next been seen in Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials<\/a>, opposite Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter which hits Netflix on 15 January 2026.<\/p>\n

The Beatles \u2014 A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/a> will be released in April 2028.
