Doechii<\/a> is closing out 2025 with a new collaboration with SZA<\/a>, \u201cGirl, Get Up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Produced by Jay Versace, \u201cGirl, Get Up\u201d blends a punchy, stripped-back drum groove \u2014 sampled deftly from Birdman and Clipse\u2019s classic, \u201cWhat Happened to That Boy\u201d \u2014 with atmospheric synths. It offers Doechii the perfect platform to ruminate on life and retort the hate. Saying she\u2019ll address the misogyny flung her<\/a> way on her next album, Doechii continues, \u201cFor now, let\u2019s sink into the fact that hate don\u2019t make you powerful\/Y\u2019all monitoring spirits, go monitor that checkbook\/Fashion week was radical, diamonds what my neck took\/Tried to turn the other cheek, but y\u2019all just too damn extra.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, SZA holds down the song with a simple but infectious hook, crooning, \u201cI be in the back levitating, doing meditation, hear me girl, get up\/Taking on all confrontation, fuck a limitation, hear me girl, get up\/Somehow I know that I\u2019ll have everything, it\u2019s mine, mine, mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGirl, Get Up\u201d is the last song in Doechii\u2019s \u201cSwamp Sessions\u201d series, in which she tried to write a song in an hour, and then pair the track with equally compelling visuals. Other tracks in the series include \u201cNissan Altima,\u201d \u201cBullfrog,\u201d and \u201cCatfish.\u201d<\/p>\n

The collab with SZA is also one of a handful of new singles Doechii released this year as she continued to build on the success of her breakthrough Grammy-winning<\/a> 2024 album, Alligator Bites Never Heal<\/a>. Her biggest track of 2025 was \u201cAnxiety,\u201d<\/a> a song originally released in 2019<\/a>, but re-recorded and reissued earlier this year after it started gaining traction on TikTok. The track helped Doechii earn five Grammy nominations<\/a>, including Record and Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Song, and Best Music Video.<\/p>\n

Along with \u201cAnxiety,\u201d Doechii also dropped the solo track \u201cNosebleeds,\u201d<\/a> and several collaborations, including \u201cExtraL\u201d<\/a> with Jennie and \u201cBeat a Bitch Up\u201d<\/a> with Alameda.\u201d She also hopped on a remix of the Weeknd and Playboi Carti\u2019s \u201cTimeless.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
