The lawsuit also lists a member of Danielle\u2019s family and Ador\u2019s former CEO Min Hee-jin as defendants, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cdxwxqrde29o\">BBC<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe new suit comes days after Ador and its parent company, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/hybe\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hybe\" data-tag=\"hybe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HYBE<\/a>, revealed that they had ended their contract with Danielle amid wider talks with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/newjeans\/\" id=\"auto-tag_newjeans\" data-tag=\"newjeans\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NewJeans<\/a>\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-return-label-ador-1235464143\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">members\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-return-label-ador-1235464143\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to return<\/a> and end a protracted dispute. In that statement, Ador signaled their intention to take legal action, saying they believed Danielle\u2019s family member and Min Hee-jin \u201cbear significant responsibility for causing this dispute and for the delays in NewJeans\u2019 departure and return.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tHYBE and Ador did not immediately return Rolling Stone\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn November, all five members of NewJeans \u2014 Hyein, Haerin, Hanni, Danielle, and Minji \u2014 signaled their intention to return to Ador after their efforts to cut ties with their label failed in South Korean court. That same month, Ador announced that Hyein and Haerin would rejoin the group. In the statement announcing the decision to terminate Danielle\u2019s contract earlier this week, the label said Hanni had also \u201cdecided to stay with Ador,\u201d and that Minji remains \u201cin ongoing conversations\u201d with the label.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe dispute between NewJeans and Ador dates back to fall 2024, when the band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-announce-split-from-label-hybe-ador-1235186128\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced their decision<\/a> to cut ties with the label. The move came after HYBE fired Min Hee-jin \u2014 who was instrumental in developing NewJeans \u2014 after accusing her of trying to take Ador independent (which Hee-jin denied). At a press conference, the members of NewJeans also accused Ador of \u201cmanipulation,\u201d \u201cmistreatment,\u201d \u201cdeliberate miscommunications,\u201d and workplace harassment. (ADOR denied the claims.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe members of NewJeans attempted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-new-name-njz-split-label-ador-1235259513\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rebrand and relaunch as NJZ<\/a>, but HYBE\/Ador quickly took the group to court. In March, right before their first show, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-lose-court-battle-first-performance-njz-1235300938\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">court put a stop to the NJZ rebrand<\/a>, while a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-must-honor-contract-court-rules-appeal-1235367496\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">subsequent June ruling<\/a> held that the K-pop group must honor their contractual obligations through 2029.
