Kate Beckinsale shared an emotional video addressing her recent weight loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we end 2025, which was a really, really hard year, it was also the last year that my incredible mom was on this planet. So I feel really torn about letting go of it, as well,\u201d the 52-year-old said in a video shared to Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday, December 31. \u201cI just wanted to address the fact that I lost my stepfather a couple years ago, and I\u2019d already watched my father die cause my mom was in hospital and it was just me. At the age of 5, I watched my 31-year-old father die of a huge heart attack, and then I watched my stepfather die, and then I watched my mother degenerate and die.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAnd I will say, It doesn\u2019t make me feel very hungry. I don\u2019t know if there\u2019s some kind of survivor\u2019s guilt cause it started after my stepdad died.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Serendipity actress<\/a>, her lack of appetite is \u201cnot like anorexia,\u201d but rather as if her \u201cbody has closed down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s shock and trauma,\u201d she explained before slamming critics for leaving \u201cnasty\u201d comments about her appearance while she is \u201ctransparently suffering.\u201d \u201cPeople respond in different ways, obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor all the people who are inconvenienced by me being too thin, too anything or not what they expect me to be like, I really really wish you had parents like I had,\u201d Beckinsale concluded. \u201cI absolutely refuse to become like you.\u201d<\/p>\n
