Lexus New Zealand has wrapped up 2025 with its strongest result yet, delivering 1453 vehicles and locking in its position as the country\u2019s second-largest luxury automotive brand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a tidy result in what the brand itself describes as a challenging market, and one achieved without chasing volume at all costs.<\/p>\n

Rather than rapid expansion, Lexus credits steady demand across its range, continued investment in the ownership experience, and a clear long-term direction focused on design, innovation and electrification.<\/p>\n

Growth without the gold rush<\/p>\n

Lexus says its approach has been deliberate rather than aggressive. Davis adds that growth has been \u201cguided by a focus on delivering thoughtful, refined experiences that genuinely add value for our customers.\u201d That philosophy showed up physically in 2025, with new and refurbished dealerships opening in East Auckland, Wellington and Newmarket. The aim is calmer, more human spaces, supported by staff trained to deliver Lexus\u2019 signature omotenashi hospitality<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Electrification, Lexus-style<\/p>\n

Electrified models continue to do heavy lifting. The NX<\/a> and RX<\/a> ranges are now available with plug-in hybrid options, responding to rising demand for efficiency while keeping the refinement Lexus buyers expect. The brand\u2019s first dedicated battery-electric SUV, the all-new RZ<\/a>, has also landed and is currently being shown publicly at the ASB Classic. It introduces steer-by-wire yoke steering, the first time Lexus has offered the technology locally, promising smoother control and a more engaging drive.<\/p>\n

One eye on the future<\/p>\n

Globally, Lexus has been busy sketching its next chapter. At the Japan Mobility Show, the brand revealed a suite of future concepts under the theme Discover, spanning land, sea and air. It also previewed the LFA Concept: an electrified performance car developed alongside Toyota Gazoo Racing, intended to carry the spirit of the original LFA into a battery-electric era. \u201cEven as electrification and performance evolve, the craft and emotion of driving still matters,\u201d says Davis.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Lexus has confirmed the next-generation ES<\/a> is on the way and will become its first model here with connected-car services.<\/p>\n
