Coming from the same company that revived a physical keyboard for your smartphone, the \u201cClicks Communicator\u201d is a dedicated piece of hardware that acts as a phone for your phone and is all about managing your messages.<\/p>\n

Launching later in 2026, the Clicks Communicator is a smartphone designed to act as a secondary device to your main smartphone. It can run as an independent device, running Android 16 out of the box with 5 years of updates, and support for a SIM (physical or eSIM). <\/p>\n

The focus, though, is very much on messaging.<\/p>\n

The Clicks Communicator has a smaller device and a form factor like a classic BlackBerry. The whole phone is shorter than a typical device, but with a physical keyboard taking up the bottom of the device. The hardware is very much built around the messaging focus, with a \u201cSignal Light\u201d built into the \u201cPrompt Key\u201d on the side of the device which can light up in various colors to signify messages from specific apps, group chats, and more. There\u2019s also a physical switch that can be used to mute everything whenever you want, or configured to other functions.<\/p>\n

As far as the software goes, the Communicator uses a custom software design built on the popular Niagara Launcher which will show your messages and emails from various apps all in one place. <\/p>\n

The aforementioned \u201cPrompt Key\u201d is used to start voice messages, or start a voice recording if you\u2019re not using a message app at the moment you first tap it. Clicks teases future AI applications for this button, but the main focus, as with the whole product, is on messaging. <\/p>\n

The hardware also features an interchangeable rear panel. And the specs aren\u2019t too shabby either, with a 4,000 mAh battery with built-in Qi2 magnets(!), a 3.5mm headphone jack, 256GB of storage with a microSD card slot, and an unnamed 4nm chipset from MediaTek. <\/p>\n

The Clicks Communicator will be available later in 2026 for $499 (to start, at least) with reservations open today for $199. A reservation made early brings the price down to $399 when the device starts shipping, or buyers can pay the full $399 up front and get two back covers for free.<\/p>\n
