He pointed out that while some people can stay effortlessly in shape, for others it is a very different ordeal altogether.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dan, it is not the <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/lifestyle\/health\/fitness-expert-reveals-5-smart-walking-techniques-that-help-burn-more-calories-without-hitting-the-gym-101766477570721.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"calories\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">calories<\/a>, hormones, or even genetics that decide whether a person can sustainably lose weight. It is their psychology.<\/p>\n<p>He described weight loss as \u201ca psychological wheel,\u201d where \u201cif one part is broken, you might lose weight in the short term, but you won&#8217;t keep it off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The wheel has \u201cfive spokes,\u201d which Dan elaborated in the following manner.<\/p>\n<p>   1. Type of motivation<\/p>\n<p>The type of motivation that individuals have about losing weight determines the outcome, shared Dan. \u201cIf you&#8217;re doing this to impress others, it&#8217;s not going to last.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In order for the weight loss \u201cto stick,\u201d we need intrinsic motivation, which doing it for ourselves.<\/p>\n<p> 2. Control over eating habits<\/p>\n<p>According to the trainer, when we let emotions decide \u201cwhen\u201d and \u201chow much\u201d we eat, it becomes very easy to overeat and go off track from the goal.<\/p>\n<p> 3. Habit loops and cues<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you don&#8217;t randomly <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/lifestyle\/travel\/what-is-snack-tourism-amritsar-to-kolkata-5-must-visit-destinations-in-india-for-foodies-101766821784722.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"snack\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">snack<\/a>,\u201d stated Dan. \u201cThere is always a trigger, whether it be stress, boredom, time, (or) location.\u201d He believes that it is the responsibility of individuals to find out what the trigger is and work around it accordingly.<\/p>\n<p> 4. Identity and self-image.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can&#8217;t have a new body with an old identity. Weight loss and getting lean requires you to become someone new,\u201d highlighted Dan.<\/p>\n<p> 5.
