The result felt romantic, but not locked into character dressing\u2014more a gentle acknowledgement of the Wicked era than a continuation of it.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, anyone familiar with Law Roach\u2019s approach knows there\u2019s always a reference at play. Ariana\u2019s gown carried a clear nod to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/filmsbratz\/status\/1893437043964805252\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Diahann Carroll\u2019s iconic 1969 Oscars look<\/a>, widely believed to have been designed by William Travilla.<\/p>\n<p>What truly shifts the conversation, though, is the beauty look. The platinum blonde that often washed her out under unforgiving red carpet lighting is gone. In its place is the return of her warm auburn tone.
