\n\tKristen Stewart<\/a> is potentially interested in reviving the Twilight<\/a> franchise<\/a>, but not as its star. The actress, who recently directed her first film, The Chronology of Water, admitted that she would be willing to get behind the camera to remake the popular teen film series. <\/p>\n

\n\tEntertainment Tonight asked Stewart if she might want to revisit one of her past projects as director, including 2008\u2019s Twilight, which was helmed by<\/a> Catherine Hardwicke. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI love what all of the directors did with the movies,\u201d Stewart replied. \u201cBut they were so themselves and weird and kind of like squirrelly and just so present in that time when they didn\u2019t really know what they were yet, before they blew up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe agreed she would be interested in taking the series on. \u201cImagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support,\u201d she said. \u201cI would love to readapt\u2014yeah, sure, I\u2019ll do the remake. I\u2019m doing it. I\u2019m committed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStewart starred as Bella Swan in the franchise, based on Stephenie Meyer\u2019s book series. A total of five films were released, with the fourth split into two parts. Hardwicke departed after the first movie and the subsequent editions were directed by Chris Weitz, David Slade, and Bill Condon. They co-starred Robert Pattinson<\/a> as vampire Edward Cullen and Taylor Lautner as werewolf Jacob Black. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn the interview, Stewart admitted that she still reflects on the films and their popularity. \u201cI was just talking to one of my friends about that movie because it\u2019s on TV a lot over the holidays,\u201d she told ET. \u201cI was like, \u2018How is that aging?\u2019 Because they watch it every year on Christmas with their fam.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Chronology of Water<\/a> was released in limited theaters on Dec. 25 and will open wide in the U.S. on Jan. 9. The film stars Imogen Poots as writer Lidia Yuknavitch. In a review, Rolling Stone described the film as a \u201cfree-form biopic\u201d that feels \u201cradical, bruising, aggressive in its honesty.\u201d The review added, \u201cIt\u2019s obvious that Stewart aims to push envelopes, get in your face, make everything feel extra unvarnished in the name of being real.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Kristen Stewart is potentially interested in reviving the Twilight franchise, but not as its star.
