In a statement, Arnott\u2019s confirmed the popular product has recently been altered.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom time to time, we need to make updates to our manufacturing processes to ensure we can continue to meet supply for consumers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of this, a change has been made to one of the cheeses used in Arnott\u2019s Cheds.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis change does not impact the taste, texture, quality or overall eating experience, and consumers can continue to enjoy the same cheesy flavour they know and love.\u201d<\/p>\n
Felgate later shared an email response she received from Arnott\u2019s Consumer Care Team announcing the crackers now use parmesan.<\/p>\n
Some fans complained about the new taste in the comments of Felgate\u2019s post, sharing their disappointment in the updated recipe and pointing out the apparent difference in quality.<\/p>\n
\u201cI knew they were different – the coverage of cheese on the biscuit has definitely changed!!\u201d<\/p>\n
Another customer complained \u201cthe pecorino makes it … they don\u2019t taste like crap because there was some semblance of real cheese \ud83d\ude2d\u201c.<\/p>\n
\u201cPecoriKNOW! Don\u2019t think we don\u2019t know what you\u2019ve done. Don\u2019t take away what small joys we still have left @arnottsbiscuits. You went and meddled where meddlin\u2019 wasn\u2019t needed,\u201d a third person said.<\/p>\n
Arnotts has been approached for comment about when the altered recipe will reach New Zealand supermarket shelves. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s not the first time Arnott\u2019s has come under fire for changing the taste of their products.<\/p>\n
