Sarah Jessica Parker<\/a> is speaking out about a couple of her movies getting sequels. <\/p>\n

The 60-year-old actress stepped out for the Golden Eve dinner ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes<\/a> to receive the Carol Burnett Award on Tuesday (January 6) in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n

While there, she gave an update on Hocus Pocus 3<\/a>, and the possibility of a sequel for The Family Stone. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re working on it,\u201d she told Variety<\/a>\u2018s Marc Malkin. \u201cWhere Bette [Midler]<\/a> goes, I go. Bette is like a 13-year-old girl with a new bike. She\u2019s like, \u2018I have wheels, let us travel.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Last October, Bette revealed she had read a script for Hocus Pocus 3 \u2013 See what she said!<\/a><\/p>\n

As for a Family Stone sequel, SJP shared it\u2019s bittersweet to do one. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited\u2026but it\u2019s a rather bittersweet quandary given the loss of Diane Keaton<\/a>,\u201d she said. \u201cBut it was a very special group of actors, and prior to Diane\u2019s passing, there had been conversations with everybody, so I hope that we\u2019ll be able to. The hardest thing is everybody\u2019s schedules.\u201d<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, writer and director of the first movie, Thomas Bezucha, said that the sequel is mostly about Diane\u2018s character, Sybil, being gone. If you recall, Sybil passed away in the first movie. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis caught us all by surprise, like everybody,\u201d he told Vanity Fair<\/a> about Diane\u2018s death. \u201cAnd so much of the story of the sequel is about her absence, so it was just a real punch.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s also been working on the script for the last couple years after a meeting with Dermot Mulroney<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe first words out of his mouth were, \u2018We have to do a sequel.\u2019 I remember thinking, \u2018Why do I keep saying no?\u2019\u201d the filmmaker said. \u201cI have to deliver on the script, but in theory, everybody is like, \u2018Tell me when and where and I\u2019ll be there.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
