On view at <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/nieuweinstituut.nl\/en\/projects\/fungi-anarchistische-ontwerpers\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/nieuweinstituut.nl\/en\/projects\/fungi-anarchistische-ontwerpers\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rotterdam&#8217;s Het Nieuwe Instituut<\/a>, the display explores how mushrooms and moulds can cause decomposition, death and destruction, but also explores their potential to work together with human and non-human life. The curator commissioned seven new installations for the exhibition, created by designers working closely with scientists, and also includes artworks from artists such as Olafur Eliasson and Annicka Yi. The playful poetry of Mendini&#8217;s work is explored through the artistic references and inspirations that helped shape his career. In turn, Noguchi left his own mark on the city \u2013 with public art proposals and communal spaces designed for engagement and play (many of which faced opposition from figures such as NYC Parks Commissioner Robert Moses). Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the inauguration of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noguchi.org\/museum\/exhibitions\/view\/noguchis-new-york\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.noguchi.org\/museum\/exhibitions\/view\/noguchis-new-york\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum<\/a>, this exhibition examines Noguchi\u2019s enduring efforts to give back to the city that inspired him. The Vignellis left post-war <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wallpaper.com\/tag\/milan\" data-auto-tag-linker=\"true\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.wallpaper.com\/tag\/milan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Milan<\/a> and settled in New York to establish their studio in 1965, and their \u2018intellectual and human journey\u2019 is narrated through a curated selection of objects, furniture, interiors, drawings, models, sketches, photographs, manuals, trademarks, books, covers, and magazines. In 2026, he would have celebrated his 100th birthday; to mark the occasion, the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.design-museum.de\/en\/exhibitions\/preview.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.design-museum.de\/en\/exhibitions\/preview.html\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Vitra Design Museum\u2019s Schaudepot exhibition<\/a> \u2013 one of the most significant collections of Panton\u2019s designs \u2013 is presenting his work chronologically and thematically. The exhibition highlights iconic pieces such as the \u2018Panton\u2019 chair and the 1970 \u2018Visiona II\u2019 installation; it also reconstructs the designer\u2019s 1970 \u2018Fantasy Landscape\u2019, a walk-in environment that transformed the way people experienced space, colour and form.
