In an official fundraiser, family friend Ella Mackrell revealed Adasyn\u2019s family were also grieving the sudden death of her younger brother \u2013 who died before the crash which claimed Adasyn\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
Mackrell paid tribute to Adasyn, saying she was in Rosebery from NSW for the school holidays.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was having fun, spending time with friends, and making memories the way any 16-year-old should,\u201d Mackrell said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTragically, while riding a ATV, Adasyn and one of our beloved friends, Whitt, were hit by a car and both of them passed away at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n
The GoFundMe set up by Mackrell is raising money to support the teen\u2019s family with funeral expenses, and to take Adasyn home to Newcastle.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo family should ever have to worry about finances while grieving the loss of their child,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Adasyn leaves us behind we think about her parents \u2026 her brothers \u2026 and the rest of the family, who are now facing life without their beautiful sister, cousin, and friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Tasmania Police spokesman said an investigation into the cause of the crash was underway and that the driver would be subjected to drug and alcohol testing, which was standard practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cTasmania Police would like to thank the group of interstate tourists who stopped and rendered medical assistance at the scene,\u201d a spokesman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur thoughts are with the family and loved ones of both the deceased. A report will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n
