Responding to the backlash, Kajol and Twinkle later clarified that their views were shaped by personal experiences and were not meant as relationship advice. They also contrasted their perspectives with Janhvi Kapoor<\/a>\u2019s more idealistic views on love and marriage, adding a disclaimer that their opinions were strictly personal.<\/p>\n

Amid the ongoing debate, Gautami Kapoor, who has featured in films like Fanaa, Student of the Year, Shaadi Ke Side Effects and the upcoming De De Pyaar De 2, shared her thoughts in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan.When asked about the statement, \u201cPhysical disloyalty is okay for me, but emotional disloyalty should not be there,\u201d Gautami responded, \u201cSee, I don\u2019t know exactly what she has said, and I don\u2019t want to comment on her statement because that\u2019s her thought process. But for the kind of person I am, physical and emotional disloyalty is disloyalty\u2014period.\u201dShe added, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter to me whether it\u2019s physical, emotional, spiritual, transcendental\u2014anything. Disloyalty is disloyalty. What she says is her point of view, and I respect that. This is how she thinks, and there\u2019s nothing wrong with that. But this is how I think, and there\u2019s nothing wrong with that either.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018I am fiercely loyal and very possessive\u2019<\/p>\n

Reacting specifically to Kajol\u2019s comment that physical infidelity isn\u2019t a deal-breaker, Gautami said she sees things very differently.\u201cI am a very possessive person\u2014honestly speaking. Whether it\u2019s my husband, my friends, my children, or even my team, I\u2019m extremely possessive about the people around me,\u201d she said.Explaining why, she added, \u201cThat\u2019s because I am fiercely loyal. I give my 500% in every relationship\u2014emotionally, physically, in all ways. I\u2019m completely invested. So for me, once there\u2019s disloyalty, it takes a huge toll. It becomes a burden I carry.\u201dShe further stressed that the nature of the betrayal doesn\u2019t matter to her. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter whether it\u2019s physical or emotional\u2014it\u2019s still disloyalty. Whether I want to forgive, forget, or move on\u2014that should be my choice. I shouldn\u2019t be undermined by being told, \u2018Oh, it was only physical.\u2019 It may be okay for others, but it\u2019s not okay for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

On marriage having an \u2018expiry date\u2019<\/p>\n

Gautami also addressed the comment made on the show about marriage having an expiry date and a renewal clause.\u201cI love Kajol\u2014and I think Twinkle said this\u2014but whoever said it, I love them for it,\u201d she said, adding that such statements may come from experience or even a spontaneous, joking place.However, she noted, \u201cIf you really analyse marriage today, I think marriage already comes with an expiry date\u2014if you don\u2019t work on it. If you don\u2019t put your heart and soul into it, it will expire.\u201dClarifying her stance, Gautami said she doesn\u2019t believe marriage is meant to be temporary by default. \u201cYou want it to be for life\u2014but marriage is not easy. You go through many dynamics as a couple,\u201d she explained.\u201cI don\u2019t think we can generalise that marriage should come with an expiry date. I think all marriages already have phases of expiry and renewal. Whether you let it expire or renew it depends on the phase of life you\u2019re in, your mindset, and both partners being on the same page.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u2018People give up too easily today\u2019<\/p>\n

Reflecting on modern relationships, Gautami observed that patience is wearing thin. \u201cEarlier, people would say, \u2018Let\u2019s figure this out.\u2019 Today, at the first argument, people are ready to call it quits,\u201d she said.Pointing to the pressures of modern life, she added, \u201cThere are too many options, too many temptations, and almost no patience. People don\u2019t have the time, hunger, or fire to make something work.\u201d <\/p>\n

Still believes in fighting for marriage<\/p>\n

Despite the changing times, Gautami said she still believes in working through issues. \u201cI\u2019m not from that generation that gives up instantly,\u201d she said. \u201cIf you got married for the right reasons, maybe you can give it another chance. Let\u2019s fight it out. Let\u2019s talk.
