\u201cIt is inadmissible that a restaurant films its customers without clear permission and posts the video, exposing the person to unpredictable consequences,\u201d Codacons advocate Fransesco Tanasi said.<\/p>\n
Tanasi warned that sharing footage without express consent \u201ccan have very serious effects on a person\u2019s private life and family life\u201d.<\/p>\n
The organisation is now seeking damages on the man\u2019s behalf and has threatened to refer the case to Italy\u2019s privacy watchdog, according to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
Questions around social media, consent and privacy have been in the spotlight recently after the Coldplay concert \u201cjumbotron affair\u201d<\/a> in July last year.<\/p>\n Married former Astronomer chief executive Andy Byron was caught on the stadium\u2019s big screen locked in a tender embrace with his HR executive Kristin Cabot.<\/p>\n The pair were seen trying to shield their faces when they realised they had been exposed.<\/p>\n \u201cI made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss,\u201d Cabot told the New York Times in an interview last month.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it\u2019s not nothing. And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that.
