After “High School Musical” star<\/a> Ashley Tisdale penned a scathing first-person essay for The Cut <\/a>about her “toxic” mom group, celebrities have been responding. And they are not, in fact, all in this together. <\/p>\n

In her essay, Tisdale wrote how she was initially energized by joining a mom group of friends who happened to be having babies at the same time. Eventually, however, she began to feel left out.<\/p>\n

Though Tisdale didn\u2019t name names \u2014 and in fact her rep denied<\/a> that certain celebrities were part of the clique \u2014 there has been a huge amount of internet speculation about the identity of the other moms in the group. <\/p>\n

Meghan Trainor, who has been pegged by internet sleuths as a potential member of Tisdale’s former mom crew, shared what seemed like a response to the drama on TikTok<\/a> on Jan. 8.<\/p>\n

The video features an expressionless Trainor typing on a keyboard. The text reads, “Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama.” Playing in the background is Trainor’s song, “Still Don’t Care,” highlighting these lyrics: “Let me take a moment, think it over. Does it touch me at all? Nope, I still don\u2019t care.”<\/p>\n

In her essay, Tisdale wrote, \u201cTo be clear, I have never considered the moms to be bad people. (Maybe one.) But I do think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive \u2014 for me, anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

She texted the group that she was leaving because it was getting \u201ctoo high school\u201d for her. <\/p>\n

Tisdale, 40, who goes by her married name of Ashley French on her blog, is a mother of two<\/a> who rose to fame as a child actor in the 2000s on the Disney Channel. Never one to hold back, Tisdale has been outspoken about her personal struggles with mental health<\/a>, alopecia<\/a> and breastfeeding<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Responses have been rolling in from other celebrities.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 6, Matthew Koma<\/a>, Hilary Duff’s husband, posted a fictional image on his Instagram stories. <\/p>\n

The photo looks almost exactly like Tisdale’s photo from The Cut: Koma is wearing an almost identical outfit, sitting on a similar-looking off-white couch and striking the same unique pose. The Cut’s logo appears in the corner, and the text reads, “A Mom Group Tell All Through a Father’s Eyes: When You’re the Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.” <\/p>\n

He also included the text: \u201cRead my new interview with @thecut.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another Disney Channel star, Christy Carlson Romano<\/a>, also shared her feelings about mom groups on Instagram on Jan. 6. <\/p>\n

Moms of older kids sometimes end up “cycling out of those friendships, and that kind of sucks,” Romano said. When the dynamic shifts, moms often find a new group of friends.<\/p>\n

“It’s not supposed to be dramatic, but I get it. Sometimes it gets a little crazy and then you write an article about it,” Romano concludes with a pointed glance at the camera.<\/p>\n

Tisdale’s husband, Christopher French, shared a cryptic Instagram message<\/a> in his stories: “Underrated life skill: Pausing to decide if it’s worth your energy.” The image was originally posted by @heycoryallen.<\/p>\n

Will this mom group rift have an ending worthy of a Disney Channel original movie? Or will the division continue to play out on social media?<\/p>\n

As one commenter on Romano’s reel wrote, “These Disney Channel mom group wars were not on my bingo card for 2026.”<\/p>\n
