At least, for most of its devices.<\/p>\n<p>Tagging on to the post that initially announced the <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/10\/30\/nothing-lock-screen-ads-sketchy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lock Glimpse rollout<\/a>, Nothing has <a href=\"https:\/\/nothing.community\/d\/45348-lock-glimpse-future-plans#:~:text=and%20user%20choice.-,%5B%20UPDATE%20%5D%209%20JAN,-Hi%20everyone%2C\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">updated users<\/a> with new information regarding the feature. Those lockscreen ads will officially be removed from some devices, and Lock Glimpse will be making an exit for the Nothing Phone (a) series.<\/p>\n<p>The company has left the conversation open, though, noting that it may Lock Glimpse back in the future once \u201cit\u2019s meaningfully improved to feel less intrusive and more considered.\u201d What constitutes those checkpoints is anyone\u2019s guess, but it\u2019s a step in the right direction for those who want to use Nothing\u2019s (a) series without ads on arrival.<\/p>\n<p>The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite and CMF devices are the outliers. The post says those devices will have Lock Glimpse installed, but it will be off by default. Eventually, Nothing plans to add the ability to uninstall the function altogether. Removing the app by force tends to <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/12\/17\/nothing-lockscreen-ads-battery-life-removal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">have unwanted consequences<\/a>, so this is a good step.<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<p>This is all part of the latest software update that Nothing is rolling out to devices. The update also allows users to disable and remove the Meta App Installer and App Manager from the Phone (3a) Lite, falling into the theme of removing unwanted content from its OS.
