Magwala said these factors would likely prevent us from seeing the bright colour from six years ago. <\/p>\n

In 2020, police in New Zealand were flooded with 111 calls about the \u201ceerie\u201d orange and yellow-tinted<\/a> skies in Auckland.<\/p>\n

Police said the calls to the 111 number were either to report that the haze was present or to ask why the sky had changed colour.<\/p>\n

At least 130 homes have been lost so far this week as Victoria\u2019s bushfire <\/a>crisis continues for its second day.<\/p>\n

A State of Disaster was declared overnight in 18 fire-affected local government areas and one alpine resort.<\/p>\n
