Teyana Taylor<\/a> is reflecting on her journey after her big win at the 2026 Golden Globes<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just like in awe,\u201d Taylor told Daily News backstage shortly following her acceptance speech<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After winning Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role, the \u201cOne Battle After Another\u201d<\/a> actress reflected on the twists and turns of her career that brought her to this moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, if everything would have happened my way and on my time, I don\u2019t even know if I would be standing up here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The multi-hyphenate first rose to fame as a singer, dancer and choreographer before shocking fans in 2020 when she announced<\/a> her retirement from music due to feeling \u201cunderappreciated as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

She soon returned to the spotlight with a pivot into dramatic acting. The move marked a new chapter of her career, one she says ultimately led her to \u201csomething bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think trusting God\u2019s timing and him saying \u2018OK,hold on. I understand this is what you wanted, but this is what I got planned for you,\u2019 Taylor told The News. \u201cHe had something bigger planned for me and I\u2019m so happy that I stayed patient.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2025, Taylor found music calling her again and returned with the release of \u201cEscape Room<\/a>\u201d in August. The 22-track visual album earned Taylor her first Grammy nomination<\/a> for Best R&B Album.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven just being a part of the conversation, being in these rooms and celebrated and being acknowledged means the world to me,\u201d she told The News adding, \u201cI\u2019m filled with so much gratitude and I don\u2019t take this for granted.\u201d<\/p>\n

In \u201cOne Battle After Another,\u201d Taylor plays Perfidia, a revolutionary who has a child with a fellow vigilante, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.<\/p>\n

The film has already won numerous awards, including 4 Golden Globes and 3 Critics Choice awards.<\/p>\n
