Jean Smart won her third Golden Globe<\/a> in January 2026. She won all of them for her performance in HBO Max\u2019s Hacks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When she accepted her award, she quipped, \u201cWhat can I say? I\u2019m a greedy bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 74-year-old was one of the oldest acting winners of the night, alongside fellow 74-year old Stellan Skarsgard.<\/p>\n

After her win, she had some choice things to say about ageism in Hollywood:<\/p>\n

\u201cSomebody told me, years and years ago when I first got to LA, that there was one role for a woman for every 20 roles per man, which was really depressing,\u201d she said in the press room. \u201cThey also said that the average age difference between a husband and a wife in the United States is a little hair over two years, and on the screen, it\u2019s 20. So I\u2019m not sure we\u2019ll ever get past that.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, she said that \u201ca lot has changed,\u201d but added that she would \u201chate to think I\u2019m the poster child for older actresses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also, during her acceptance speech, she gave a special shout-out to her children and her partner, Joe: \u201cI mean, I am just surrounded by so much support,\u201d she said on the stage.<\/p>\n

The Hacks star was married for 35 years to fellow actor Richard Gilliland. In 2021, Richard passed away suddenly from a heart condition at 71 years old.<\/p>\n

\u201cLosing your mate of 35 years, I mean, literally half my life I lived with him, is just kind of indescribable,\u201d she said on Who\u2019s Talking to Chris Wallace?. \u201cAnd it just, you go through this period of thinking it\u2019s just not real\u2026It\u2019s just this isn\u2019t real. You know? This just doesn\u2019t make any sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard and Jean had two sons together, Connor and Forrest. <\/p>\n

In 2025, Jean Smart shared in an interview <\/a>with CBS that she was in a relationship again with \u201ca wonderful actor.\u201d However, she did not share who it was.<\/p>\n

Then Joe Pacheco joined Jean Smart on the red carpet for the 76th Emmy Awards in September 2024. Ahead of their appearance on the red carpet, Joe posted a cute photo of the two of them<\/a>, captioned: \u201cHeading to the Emmys with my date, the incredible Jean Smart! She\u2019s AMAZING!\u201d Since then, they\u2019ve frequently shown up at red carpets together.<\/p>\n

Joe often praises his partner on his social media. After her interview on the Jimmy Kimmel show, he remarked<\/a>, \u201cJean was spectacular as always\u2026beautiful, funny, charming!\u201d<\/p>\n

As mentioned, Joe is also an actor. He currently stars as Bart Daley on Apple TV+\u2019s The Morning Show, aka The Morning Wars.<\/a><\/p>\n
