Monzo, the online bank, went down for thousands of users, leaving them unable to use the app properly.<\/p>\n

Messages on the banking app told users: \u2018We\u2019re experiencing issues, we\u2019ll let you know when they\u2019re resolved.\u2019<\/p>\n

It also stated that the \u2018app will not be fully functional.\u2019<\/p>\n

During this time, users could still make payments and withdraw cash, check balances and transactions, view account details, freeze their card, transfer money, and contact the Monzo team.<\/p>\n

On its status page, Monzo said that it had \u2018spotted some platform issues\u2019 which would be investigated.<\/p>\n

It also previously noted a \u2018degraded performance\u2019 for the Monzo app, card payments, outbound bank transfers and inbound bank transfers.<\/p>\n

The problems began just after 3pm and were spread across the country, according to the tracking website Down Detector.<\/p>\n

One Monzo user told Metro: \u2018You can\u2019t do anything other than see how much money is in your pots.\u2019<\/p>\n

Another Monzo user commented on Down Detector: \u2018Currently down, was able to transfer to and from pots but now that feature is down too.\u2019<\/p>\n

Other Monzo customers took to X to express their frustration with the issues.<\/p>\n

One customer asked: \u2018How long is this going to take? I have bills etc to pay for.\u2019<\/p>\n

Another customer posted: \u2018Any time frame of when the issue is gonna be fixed? I need to go shopping.\u2019<\/p>\n

A Monzo spokesperson said: \u2018Customers can now use the app as normal.<\/p>\n

\u2018For a short period today, we activated Monzo Stand-in \u2013 our fully independent backup bank \u2013 while we investigated an issue.<\/p>\n

\u2018Customers were always able to make payments with their card, withdraw cash, freeze their card and send and receive bank transfers.\u2019<\/p>\n
