The son of late, great actor Donald Sutherland, who died in 2024 aged 88, is due to appear in court on February 2.

Sutherland’s representatives did not immediately respond to NBC News’ request for comment.

It’s not the first time the 24 actor has been arrested.

He has previously had three spells in jail, most recently in 2007, when he was sentenced to 48 days in prison for driving under the influence and violating probation.

In 2016, he told Rolling Stone Country: “Johnny Cash wrote about men in prison and he managed to do that with a kind of dignity that I always thought was incredible.

“I’ve never been to prison … I have gone to jail a few times in my life for doing some incredibly stupid stuff and I can tell you, the first thing you lose when you walk through those doors is your dignity.

“I always really appreciated [Cash] for that.”

Sutherland was detained in 2009 for allegedly assaulting a fashion designer in a New York City nightclub, but the misdemeanour assault charges were later dropped.

He was also arrested in 2020 after making an illegal U-turn in California.

[8
3225,74,1554,7818,11924,17704,51247,1558,19552,156,78,138096,55623,111,139,69,90,675,79226,138097
post-232647","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-entertainment","tag-according","tag-after","tag-alleged","tag-allegedly","tag-arrested","tag-assault","tag-assaulting","tag-been","tag-driver","tag-entertainment","tag-in","tag-kiefer","tag-la","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz","tag-on","tag-police","tag-rideshare","tag-sutherland
["GET
