<\/p>\nPolice have released images of people they want to speak to after seven young people were beaten in an “unprovoked assault” at a party in Wellington last month.<\/p>\n
On December 13, around 90 young people were attending a gathering at a premises in Churton Park, Johnsonville, when four people arrived uninvited about 10.30pm.<\/p>\n
Acting Detective Sergeant Laura Murdoch said the group wore masks and one was armed with a weapon.<\/p>\n
“The alleged offenders have then conducted a planned, violent, unprovoked assault on seven young people in attendance of the gathering before fleeing the area,” she said. <\/p>\n
“The seven people received a range of injuries, from minor bruising to a fractured skull which required surgery. They are now all home and recovering from their injuries.”<\/p>\n
Murdoch said police were speaking with the victims and witnesses from the gathering. <\/p>\n
Police have since established the people allegedly involved had visited the Mobil Gas Station in Johnsonville around 20 minutes before the assault.<\/p>\n
An 18-year-old Tawa man has since been arrested and was due to appear in the Wellington District Court on January 29 on multiple charges, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault with intent to injure, and common assault. <\/p>\n
Investigators today released CCTV images of the men believed to be linked to the incident.<\/p>\n
One man was wearing a “36” Pittsburgh Steelers NFL jersey, light-coloured denim shorts, and blue and white basketball sneakers.<\/p>\n
A second man was wearing a black hoodie with “Lakers” printed on the front, dark-coloured shorts, white sneakers, and a diamante stud earring in his left ear.<\/p>\n

A third person, who could not be seen in the images, was described as wearing a grey hoodie, beige or grey shorts, and black sneakers.<\/p>\n
