\n\tGrammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams<\/a> is set to make her acting debut in \u201cBabygirl\u201d director Halina Reijn<\/a>\u2018s latest movie for A24.<\/p>\n

\n\tReijn will write and direct the project, titled \u201cPlease,\u201d with Abrams starring. Plot details for the film remain under wraps. <\/p>\n

\n\tDavid Hinojosa will produce the film, re-teaming with Reijn for the third time. Reijn will also produce through her Man Up Film banner, with A24 also producing and financing. Zach Nutman will executive produce.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPlease\u201d is Reijn\u2019s third film with A24, following her satirical slasher \u201cBodies Bodies Bodies\u201d (2022) and her erotic thriller \u201cBabygirl\u201d (2024), which became one of the studio\u2019s biggest global successes and earned $64 million worldwide. A24 additionally acquired her debut feature, 2019\u2019s \u201cInstinct.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for Abrams, it\u2019s been one hit after another since she burst onto the music scene in 2019. Her EPs, \u201cMinor\u201d and \u201cThis Is What It Feels Like,\u201d established Abrams as a talent to watch, with a knack for blending elements of indie folk and pop. Her debut album, 2023\u2019s \u201cGood Riddance,\u201d proved to be a major breakthrough, ultimately earning a nomination for best new arti<\/a>s<\/a>t<\/a> at the Grammys. Abrams\u2019 2024 sophomore album, \u201cThe Secret of Us,\u201d was a smash hit, featuring singles \u201cClose To You\u201d (her first solo debut on the Billboard Hot 100) and \u201cI Love You, I\u2019m Sorry\u201d (which rose to no. 11 on the U.S. Spotify charts). Her next single, \u201cThat\u2019s So True,\u201d off the deluxe edition of the album<\/a>, hit No. 1 on the US Spotify chart with more than 100 million streams; the song also became Abrams\u2019 first top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 6. In 2025, she earned a best pop duo\/group performance nod at the Grammys for \u201cUs,\u201d her duet with Taylor Swift. <\/p>\n

\n\tEven with all that success in music, a crossover to acting was inevitable considering her father is industry titan J.J.
