The official website for the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime<\/a> (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) franchise<\/a> revealed on Thursday that the fourth<\/a>\u00a0anime season will debut on April 3 on NTV<\/a>‘s now one-hour<\/a>\u00a0“Friday Anime Night” programming block, at 11:00 p.m. JST. The new season will start airing on BS11<\/a> on April 4 at 10:00 p.m. JST.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The anime’s fourth season\u00a0will air for a total run of five\u00a0cours<\/a>\u00a0(quarters of a year), with the first two\u00a0cours airing continuously.<\/p>\n

8-Bit<\/a>\u00a0is returning once again to animate the fourth season, and\u00a0Miho Okasaki<\/a>\u00a0returns to voice protagonist Rimuru Tempest.<\/p>\n

Fuse<\/a>\u00a0serialized<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime\u00a0story on the “Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d” (Let’s Become Novelists) website from 2013 to 2016, and the series has since garnered over 400 million page views.\u00a0Micro Magazine<\/a>\u00a0began publishing the series in print with illustration by\u00a0Mitz Vah<\/a>\u00a0in 2014.\u00a0The novel series\u00a0ended<\/a>\u00a0with its 23rd and final volume on November 29. A spinoff side story volume titled\u00a0Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Toaru Ky\u016bka no Sugoshi-kata<\/a>\u00a0(That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: How to Spend a Certain Vacation) shipped alongside the final volume. The novels will\u00a0get<\/a>\u00a0a side-story series, with the first part slated for release in 2026.<\/p>\n

Yen Press<\/a>\u00a0releases<\/a>\u00a0the novel series in English. <\/p>\n

The first television anime of\u00a0Taiki Kawakami<\/a>‘s manga, itself an adaptation of the light novel series,\u00a0premiered<\/a>\u00a0in October 2018.\u00a0Crunchyroll<\/a>\u00a0streamed<\/a>\u00a0the anime, and\u00a0FUNimation Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0streamed<\/a>\u00a0an English\u00a0dub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The second television anime season premiered its first\u00a0cours\u00a0(quarter of a year) in January 2021. After\u00a0The Slime Diaries\u00a0ended, the second\u00a0cours\u00a0of the second season began in July 2021 \u2014 for nine straight months of television anime from the\u00a0franchise\u00a0in 2021.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond<\/a>\u00a0film\u00a0opened<\/a>\u00a0in Japan in November 2022.<\/p>\n

The three-episode\u00a0That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus’ Dream<\/a>\u00a0anime\u00a0debuted<\/a>\u00a0in Japan in November 2023 with all three episodes.\u00a0Crunchyroll\u00a0is\u00a0streaming<\/a>\u00a0the anime with subtitles and an English\u00a0dub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The anime’s\u00a0third<\/a>\u00a0season\u00a0premiered<\/a>\u00a0in April 2024. The show aired for two continuous\u00a0cours\u00a0for a half-year run.<\/p>\n

The second anime film Gekij\u014d-ban Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: S\u014dkai no Namida-hen ( That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea<\/a>) will open<\/a>\u00a0in Japan on February 27, 2026.\u00a0Crunchyroll\u00a0has\u00a0acquired<\/a> the worldwide theatrical rights to the film. Sony Pictures Entertainment<\/a> and Crunchyroll will screen the film in theaters with dates to be announced.<\/p>\n
