\n\tLionsgate<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0The\u00a0Housemaid is crossing the two-century milestone worldwide, making it filmmaker Paul Feig<\/a>\u2018s fifth movie to do so after Bridesmaids, Spy, The Heat and Ghostbusters. The feature take of the Freida McFadden novel from Lionsgate and Hidden Pictures Media will cross $100 million stateside Friday, with $100M-plus already clocked abroad earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe thriller stars Amanda Seyfried<\/a> as a crazed rich housewife, who with her suave husband (Brandon Sklenar) hires a mysterious young woman (Sydney Sweeney<\/a>) with a past as their live-in maid. Calamity ensues. The pic is $20M from overtaking Sweeney\u2019s 2023 rom-com Anyone But You ($220.3M) to become the star\u2019s second highest-grossing movie at the global box office after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ($392.1M).<\/p>\n

\n\tIn total. Feig counts north of $1.4 billion at the global box office as a director. His highest-grossing movie remains 2011\u2019s Bridesmaids at $324.8M worldwide.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition, The Housemaid<\/a> is Lionsgate\u2019s second movie to cross $200M at the global box office in 2025-2026, with Now You See Me: Now You Don\u2019t reaching that milestone last month at $241M WW. The studio licenses out foreign territories to fund its pics.<\/p>\n

\n\tLionsgate already announced a sequel, The Housemaid\u2019s Secret, based on McFadden\u2019s next title in the bestselling series. Housemaid scribe Rebecca Sonnenshine is currently adapting; Feig is expected to return to helm, with Sweeney and Michele Morrone also looking to come back.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter four weeks,\u00a0The\u00a0Housemaid\u00a0has posted solid holds for a Christmas release at the domestic B.O. and continues to roll out internationally, playing in 66 territories.\u00a0It was No. 1 at the UK box office last weekend ahead of\u00a0Avatar: Fire and Ash\u00a0and\u00a0Zootopia 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe pic is produced by Todd Lieberman, Laura Fischer and Feig, and executive produced by Sweeney, Seyfried and McFadden.<\/p>\n
