Karan Johar’s first collaboration nerves on set<\/p>\n

The filmmaker shared the story on a wedding wear brand’s YouTube channel, where he opened up about his state of mind on the actor\u2019s first day on set. \u201cIt was my first time working with Salman Khan, so I was very\u2026 what should I say? I was quite wound up because he was such a big star,\u201d Johar said on the channel.Johar recalled walking into Khan\u2019s vanity van and finding him dressed casually. \u201cHe was in a T-shirt and jeans. I said, \u2018Salman, you know it\u2019s a big set.\u2019 And he said, \u2018Yes, but if for the first time a groom comes in jeans and a T-shirt, it will be a new style. I\u2019ll bring the swag.\u2019\u201dThe director said the idea instantly stressed him out. \u201cI got so hyped. I said, \u2018But the set is so ornate. Kajal has such an intricate lehenga.\u2019\u201d As his worries grew, Johar admitted he lost control of his emotions. \u201cI got so stressed that I started crying in front of him.\u201dAccording to Johar, the sight left Khan unsettled. \u201cHe looked so nervous seeing me crying in his vanity van, and finally, he agreed, \u2018No, no, I\u2019ll wear the suit.\u2019\u201d The scene went on to become Johar\u2019s first sangeet song shoot as a director.<\/p>\n

How Salman Khan joined the film<\/p>\n

Johar has also spoken earlier about how difficult it was to cast Aman Mehra. In a separate conversation with fashion designer Prabal Gurung for Gold House NGO, he explained that he had faced multiple rejections.\u201cAfter Chandrachur Singh and Saif Ali Khan said no, I was very depressed,\u201d Johar said.
