Souths star Cam Murray has provided updates on several of his high-profile Souths teammates just weeks out from the club\u2019s first pre-season game against the Dragons.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs were decimated by injuries in 2025, with Murray missing all but one game last year after rupturing his Achilles during a pre-season training session.<\/p>\n

Murray returned to play in the final round showdown against fierce rivals the Roosters and after a strong off-season, the Souths skipper is ready to lead his team out albeit there are some nerves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m as confident as I can be. There\u2019s still going to be nerves, no doubt. Probably more than normal for the start of the season, because of how much footy I missed last year,\u201d Murray said at a media op for sporting brand Asics.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s expected that Latrell Mitchell will move into the centres full time to accommodate the recently re-signed Jye Gray at fullback. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think (Latrell\u2019s best position) is still being weighed up, to be honest,\u201d Murray revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s lots of experiments getting thrown around at training at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause we\u2019ve got such a star studded squad, it\u2019s just about getting them in the right positions and making sure that we\u2019re playing to each other\u2019s strengths.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Murray says Brandon Smith has looked \u201cphenomenal\u201d. <\/p>\n

While the Rabbitohs weren\u2019t really given the chance to show their best form in 2025 due to the horror casualty ward, coming up against a full strength Souths line up is a dangerous proposition for the rest of the NRL. <\/p>\n

In addition to Murray, Mitchell, Smith, Cody Walker and Campbell Graham being fully fit, the Rabbitohs have added one man wrecking ball David Fifita to the fray.<\/p>\n

The former Titan has made every post a winner during off-season training, with Murray being left \u201creally impressed\u201d by his new back row running mate. <\/p>\n

Importantly, Fifita\u2019s attitude and committment being lauded by one of the hardest workers in the game can only be a terrific thing for Souths given there were on-field attitude concerns towards the end of Fifita\u2019s Titans tenure.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s coming with a great attitude. He was there to get his foot right when he started, and he didn\u2019t leave any stone unturned with his rehab and was working hard in the gym. Then once he got out onto the field, he\u2019s been all guns blazing,\u201d Murray reported.<\/p>\n
