\n\tGlassriver, the leading Icelandic film and TV production company behind \u201cReykjavik Noir<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0has optioned the\u00a0bestselling \u201cKonrad\u201d\u00a0book series from Arnaldur Indri\u00f0ason<\/a>, the successful author of \u201cOperation Napoleon<\/a>\u201d and \u201cJar City.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe banner will be making a TV series based on the seven-book collection \u201cKonrad,\u201d whose story follows a retired Reykjav\u00edk detective haunted by his own troubled past while solving cold cases. Though no longer working for the police, Konrad finds himself unable to ignore the unresolved crimes that continue to haunt both victims and their families.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis marks the first TV series adaptation of Indri\u00f0ason\u2019s work, which comprises the \u201cDetective Erlendur\u201d series that have been translated into multiple languages, as well as \u201cOperation Napoleon\u201d and\u00a0\u201cJar City.\u201d The latter two have been turned into films. \u201cJar City\u201d became Balthasar Kormakur\u2019s breakout film and swept five Edda Awards, Iceland\u2019s equivalent to the Oscars. <\/p>\n

\n\tSet in Reykjav\u00edk, \u201cKonrad\u201d is expected to feature Indri\u00f0ason\u2019s signature blend of psychological thriller and Nordic noir.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a0\u201cKonrad\u201d\u00a0series joins\u00a0Glassriver\u2019s slate of upscale Icelandic scripted shows, notably the thriller series\u00a0\u201cManifesto\u201d\u00a0and the optioned book trilogy\u00a0\u201cReykjavik Noir\u201d\u00a0from bestselling author Lilja Sigurdardottir.<\/p>\n
