Daughter<\/a>\u00a0have celebrated\u00a0the 10th\u00a0anniversary of \u2018Not\u00a0To\u00a0Disappear<\/a>\u2019\u00a0by sharing the unreleased song \u2018Not Enough\u2019 \u2013\u00a0listen\u00a0below.<\/p>\n

The indie folk trio released their second studio album a decade ago this week via 4AD, and while \u2018Not Enough\u2019 was a track written and demo-ed during those sessions, it did not make its way onto the final record.<\/p>\n

Now, to mark the anniversary, the band have shared a fully realised version of the track that they recorded last November, with production from the band\u2019s Igor Haefeli, who also produced \u2018Not To Disappear\u2019.<\/p>\n

The warmly\u00a0textured\u00a0track\u00a0soothes the listener, with Elena\u00a0Tonra\u00a0gently singing:\u00a0\u201cWe have a void,\u00a0it\u2019s like a vortex in our chest\u00a0\/ That\u2019s what you said, do yourself a\u00a0favour\u00a0\/\u00a0Pull yourself out of it,\u00a0out of each other\u00a0\/ Because\u00a0it\u2019s not enough\u201d<\/p>\n

The band\u00a0have said: \u201c\u2019Not Enough\u2019\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0find its place on \u2018Not\u00a0To\u00a0Disappear\u2019 but we always loved it \u2013 we even played it live a few times before it went back to being a demo buried on a\u00a0hard-drive. To mark the album\u2019s 10th anniversary, we wanted to revisit some of the unfinished threads from that era.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn November 2025, we\u00a0finally all\u00a0found ourselves in London again and recorded \u2019Not Enough\u2019 in the studio together. We live in\u00a0different places\u00a0now, and some of our recent work has happened remotely, so this felt like old times.\u201d<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0gave \u2018Not To Disappear\u2019 four stars upon its release<\/a>, writing: \u201c\u2018Not\u00a0To\u00a0Disappear\u2019 might pick up where \u2018If You Leave\u2019 left off, but\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a far more powerful,\u00a0affecting\u00a0and confident record.\u00a0There\u2019s\u00a0a fresh, subtle aggression to the music in places (like the surging guitars and Remi\u00a0Aguilella\u2019s\u00a0crunching drums on opener \u2018New Ways\u201d peaks) and the franker lyrical approach makes the sentiments within even more capable of breaking your heart than before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band\u00a0have\u00a0only released one more album in the\u00a0subsequent\u00a010 years, in the form of 2023\u2019s \u2018Stereo Mind Game<\/a>\u2019, which\u00a0NME\u00a0also gave four stars<\/a>\u00a0and described as\u00a0creating \u201cdelicate soundscapes\u201d that conveyed \u201cthe complex emotions\u201d of human relationships.<\/p>\n
