Chery is expanding the\u00a0New Zealand Tiggo 7 SUV lineup<\/a> with two petrol-powered variants. Previously, the Tiggo 7 has only been available with a Chery Super Hybrid<\/a> (CHS) powertrain, which includes plug-in charging and an electric-only range of 90km.<\/p>\n

\nSpecification matches Super Hybrid models with Urban and Ultimate.<\/p>\n

The new petrol models keep the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine from the CHS versions, but ditch the battery and electric motor. In the Tiggo 7 ICE the engine makes 108kW\/210Nm, drives the front wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and returns 6.9l\/100km, according to Chery.<\/p>\n

Powertrian aside, the petrol Tiggo 7 matches the broad specification of the CHS, with $34,990 Urban and $39,990 Ultimate models. The CHS versions are $42,990 and $49,990 respectively.<\/p>\n
