Scottish rock frontman Andrew Ure of The Ray Summers has died at the age of 41.<\/p>\n
Ure was on a hike testing equipment he got for his birthday the day before when his family reported he had not returned. He was found dead hours later with his dog, Penny, still alive by his side, according to the BBC.<\/a><\/p>\n It is unclear how Ure died, but a Police Scotland spokesperson said there are \u201cno suspicious circumstances,\u201d the BBC reported.<\/p>\n \u201cAndy was not only the rock in our band, he was the rock in our lives,\u201d The Ray Summers posted on Facebook.<\/a> \u201cThis hurts so so much. All our love & strength goes out to Andy\u2019s Linsey & his two wee boys, his family & all that were so lucky to know him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFor me, I\u2019ve lost my wee brother, my best pal, my business partner, my sounding board, and the daily reason I used my phone. Heartbroken doesn\u2019t even come close,\u201d his brother, David, shared, according to American Songwriter.<\/a><\/p>\n Ure was also the director of The Wee Whisky shop in Linlithgow, Scotland.<\/p>\n \u201cWords cannot fully express the pain of this loss, and our thoughts are with Andrew\u2019s family at this incredibly difficult time,\u201d the business wrote on Instagram.<\/a> \u201cThank you to everyone who has already reached out with their kind messages and condolences.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ray Summers are known for opening for acts such as Paolo Nutini and Doves.
