The Louisiana State Employees\u2019 Retirement System (LASERS) has revealed its exposure to Bitcoin<\/a> (BTC) through a\u00a0smaller stake in Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR), formerly MicroStrategy.<\/p>\n

This comes at a time when\u00a0Michael Saylor hinted at increasing Strategy’s slice of the Bitcoin pie.<\/p>\n

Strategy\u2019s position strengthened earlier this month after MSCI opted not to exclude<\/a> digital asset treasury (DAT) companies from its indices, sparing Strategy from potential delisting.<\/p>\n

DAT firms hold cryptocurrencies as treasury assets in a similar manner to traditional corporations maintaining cash reserves.<\/p>\n

Between Jan. 5 and Jan. 11, Strategy made its biggest Bitcoin acquisition since July 2025, purchasing 13,627 BTC for $1.25 billion.<\/p>\n

Year to date, MSTR shares have climbed 10.53%, though the stock remains down 55.36% over the past year.<\/p>\n

Adding to speculation, Saylor posted<\/a> \u201cBigger Orange\u201d on X on Jan. 18, accompanied by a chart showing Strategy\u2019s Bitcoin accumulation since 2020, now representing roughly 3% of the total BTC supply.<\/p>\n

The post fueled investor anticipation that Strategy could soon announce another major purchase.\u00a0Strategy will also share\u00a0its fourth-quarter earnings<\/a> on Feb. 5, right after market close.<\/p>\n

Strategy currently holds 687,410 BTC<\/a> in its coffers.<\/p>\n

Louisiana pension fund manages $16 billion in assets for more than 100,000 public workers.<\/p>\n

LASERS held 17,900 Strategy shares as of Dec. 31, 2025, accounting for just 0.02% of its portfolio, as per a recent filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At MSTR’s current price of $173.71 per share, the holdings are worth $3.1 million.<\/p>\n
