\u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,\u201d he added. \u201cFor my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old said it wasn\u2019t until recently that he has \u201cseen with my own eyes lengths that they\u2019ll go through\u201d to allegedly \u201cplace countless lies in the media at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I believe the truth always comes out,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Brooklyn then confirmed widespread reports that the feud escalated around the time of the couple\u2019s lavish wedding in 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was \u2018not blood\u2019 and \u2018not family\u2019,\u201d he continued. \u201cSince the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I\u2019ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn also confirmed reports that his mum stole the spotlight from Nicola on her wedding day when the Spice Girl had the first dance with the groom, instead of his wife.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic song,\u201d he recalled. \u201cIn front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I\u2019ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that\u2019s the reason he and Nicola renewed their vows last August, without any of his family present.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,\u201d he explained. \u201cMy wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we\u2019ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite this, we still travelled to London for my dad\u2019s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
The eldest of the four Beckham children said that he and Nicola wanted to celebrate David\u2019s 50th birthday last year, but the former soccer star refused to see them unless it was in a public forum.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,\u201d Brooklyn wrote. \u201cWhen he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn\u2019t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family values public promotion and endorsement above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also claimed that \u201cfamily \u2018love\u2019 is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo op, even if it\u2019s at the expense of our professional obligations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show \u2018our perfect family\u2019. But the one time my wife asked for my mum\u2019s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.\u201d<\/p>\n
The final blow came when Brooklyn concluded his statement by saying it\u2019s not his wife who controls him, but rather his parents.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe narrative my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief,\u201d he added. \u201cMy wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.\u201d<\/p>\n
