She maintains her innocence and is appealing.<\/p>\n
During an interview with the Herald Sun last year, Webster called Patterson a \u201cdisturbed sociopathic nut bag\u201d and even a \u201ccrazy b****,\u201d among other statements.<\/p>\n
The series of comments resulted in punishment from Australia\u2019s medical regulator.<\/p>\n
Webster was forced to complete ethics training and was no longer allowed to supervise training GPs.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the Herald Sun, Webster revealed why he chose to close down the rural clinic.<\/p>\n
He said it was both the lack of support from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a refusal from colleagues to limit bulk billing that was putting his practice on the road to \u201cfinancial oblivion\u201d.<\/p>\n
The doctor said he would like to look at opening a \u201cboutique\u201d practice, for patients who approved of his \u201ccompassion and skill\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be a radically downsized clinic,\u201d Webster said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got the community\u2019s back and they\u2019ve got mine. My books are always open,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson from the clinic also made contact with the Herald Sun.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a number of complex issues underlying the current situation, including longstanding concerns raised by staff and clinicians regarding workplace safety and governance,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
