A Herald reporter said Wellesley St from Nelson St to Hobson St was blocked off while guests waited outside.<\/p>\n
John, who was visiting from Sydney, was on the sixth floor when he received notice to evacuate and left the room with his wife, son and daughter.<\/p>\n

Fire services were already outside by the time they got outside, he told the Herald.<\/p>\n
Another woman said she was dining in the restaurant when the alarm was raised.<\/p>\n
She emerged to see a mass of fire trucks outside.<\/p>\n
\u201cBest holiday ever,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n
Staff at the neighbouring Femme Fatale said they were alerted to the emergency after water poured into their premises.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust a big fat water burst came through the back wall and roof to our smoko area,\u201d said Summer Breeze.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one was injured, just a bit of shock.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just glad their building didn\u2019t fall on our building, that would have been crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fire department are amazing,\u201d added Krystal.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re wet-vacing, and clearing as much water as they can.\u201d<\/p>\n
