As if we weren\u2019t getting enough celebrity sibling drama from the Beckhams<\/a> right now, Hilary Duff has seemingly addressed her long-rumoured rift with her older sister<\/a> Haylie in a brand new song.\n<\/p>\n

The pop icon<\/a> returned to the stage for her first headline performance in 18 years on Monday, kicking off her Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour in London. The set list was filled with old school bangers \u2014 including \u201cCome Clean\u201d, \u201cWake Up\u201d and her first-ever live performance of \u201cWhat Dreams Are Made Of\u201d \u2014 and new songs from her upcoming album<\/a> Luck \u2026 or Something.<\/p>\n

While fans will have to wait for February 20 to hear the new album in full (and we WILL be listening and supporting our ex-Disney queen), one song has already sent the internet into full meltdown.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Hilary Duff\u2019s new song about?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe Don\u2019t Talk\u201d, which appears to sample Gotye and Kimbra\u2019s \u201cSomebody That I Used To Know\u201d, very much alludes to Hilary\u2019s fractured relationship with Haylie and how she wishes they were still close.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Cos we come from the same home, the same blood \/ A different combination, but the same mum,\u201d she sings. \u201cPeople ask me how you\u2019re doing, I wanna say amazing \/ But the truth is that I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Things get even spicier in the second verse when Hilary hints that the feud stemmed from jealousy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if it\u2019s \u2018cos you\u2019re jealous \/ God knows I would sell it all to break you off the bigger half.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song continues with Hilary saying she wishes they could hear each other out and \u201cget back to how [they] were as kids\u201d. The Younger star appeared to get emotional towards the end of the performance, which was thankfully filmed for all of us to see.<\/p>\n

The Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff feud, explained<\/p>\n

TikToker\u00a0Jordy Cray\u00a0shared a viral video in 2022 that pointed out that Hilary and Haylie \u2014 who were once super close and acted alongside one another in Lizzie McGuire and the 2006 film Material Girls \u2014 were no longer liking each other\u2019s posts. He also noticed they had suddenly stopped appearing in photos together (they have not been photographed together since 2019) and that Hilary\u2019s husband\u00a0Matthew Koma\u00a0was not following Haylie.<\/p>\n

Hilary seemingly confirmed the rift in a November 2025 interview with Rolling Stone<\/a> when she admitted to struggling with \u201cfamily drama\u201d \u2014 and haven\u2019t we all.<\/p>\n

While many have guessed that the squabble could be down to politics \u2014 as Haylie is reportedly a Republican and Hilary is a Democrat \u2014 goss guru DeuxMoi has claimed\u00a0their estrangement actually stemmed from their partners. Apparently, Hilary\u2019s husband Matthew doesn\u2019t get along with Haylie or\u00a0her fianc\u00e9\u00a0Matthew Rosenberg, who have been engaged since 2014.<\/p>\n

The feud was dug back up earlier this month<\/a> when fans noticed that Haylie had liked Ashley Tisdale\u2019s post about being part of a \u201ctoxic\u201d mum group<\/a> \u2014 which allegedly included Hilary, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor.<\/p>\n
